QUANTUM SOLACE

Throughout the years people have asked me if I have any claims which are good for camping, maybe a little gold panning too.  Quantum Solace answers that call with a wonderful location on a beautiful serene reservoir in the hills.  Multiple level camp sites are found through this 20 acre placer mining claim, and it's absolutely beautiful.  The feeling being on the claim is well... deep solace. And with all the old trees, some of them growing at angles that seem to defy physics!

Here on Quantum Solace you'll also find multiple locations where placer gold deposits may have formed... namely the reservoir it's self!  Two creeks lead out of this 10 acre reservoir formed by a spring-fed inlet creek.  You can see from the photos below lots of well worn river rocks, and multiple strata levels including fine gravels and black sands!  The reservoir it's self may hold promise for slightly larger scale operations, as it's a tremendous source of water and appears to be as much as 6-8' deep in the middle.

Quantum Solace is found in the Olinghouse Mining District, famous for it's wiry placer gold.   This is a very unique placer claim, not just for it's great location and beauty, but also as a great new potential prospect for fresh placer deposits.

How to Mine It

Quantum Solace placer mining claim is 20 acres, with about 1/2 of those 20 acres being the reservoir.  While this reservoir is directly in the middle of the claim, mining the many inlet tributaries, and the two outlet creeks is a great place to start.

• Start by panning and sampling the outlet creeks.  There is enough water flow to run a sluice/trommel right on the creek!
• Metal detect all the low pressure zones, dig out any good hits and pan 'em out!
• Look for pathfinder minerals, iron, quartz, tungsten, lead oxides in your samples, gold will be nearby!
• Scale it up, and start running a few tons a day without having the haul water in!

Locating the Claim

The way of course is to put the GPS coordinates provided into your phone, and follow the turn by turn as much as possible.  Although a word of warning, about a mile from the claim you'll loose good cellphone reception.  And even a mile from the claim you won't be able to see the reservoir to know whether or not your still going the right direction...

You won't know you're at the reservoir till you're right on top of it!  Finally, for some reason the GPS coordinates drove me out to a road that dead-ended in one of the tributary creeks.  If this happens to you, back up to the "Y" in the road, go right, drive across the creek to the other side and continue on your way.  Of course if you get close, and lost, give me a call or email and I can try and guide you the rest of the way.

You'll also see many old workings, tailings piles, mine portals, etc., on your way out there.  So feel free to stop and check 'em out!  Lots of good ore to sample and pick through.
