J-Silver was a 20-acre unpatented lode claim in Clark County, Nevada. This significant silver-gold property featured polymetallic mineralization including silver, gold, lead, and zinc in a proven mining district.

In the mountains a little ways outside of Las Vegas, just before the little town of Goodsprings, lie two sister mines:the silver-loaded Pilgrim and the gold-laden Red Cloud.Out of these mines flowed tons of lead and zinc, but in-between these commodities camehundreds of ounces of gold and silver.

Production reports from the early 1900s and tests performed with the modern equipment(in pictures below!) both revealed thatthe entire host rock is filled with small amounts of gold and silver, but becomes richer in seemingly irregular pockets within the mines. In the past, the savviest miners tunneled to areas with the richest rock, but today, the entire host rock could be extracted and leeched from for both gold and silver!

From the Red Cloud, the past production drug up close to 2,000 tons of ore from the its single 300-foot shaft, leaving behind nearly hundreds of feet of underground workings spread across four adits. From the Red Cloud alone came more than $250,000+ in today's money of gold from its yellowed stopes! But there's still gold there, tested and true, with plenty more unexplored since 1914.

The silver beacon, the Pilgrim mine, just up the road from the Red Cloud mine is a beauty to behold - and this lead mine is holding an expensive, shiny secret: The gray crystals of carbonate lead that were passed onto the mills coming from the mine contained 20-25% lead and15-25 ounces of silver! Descending down to 120 feet at its lowest point, this sister mine to the Red Cloud may be smaller, but with a 4/opt silver average, the ground here is bursting with silver!
