The High Moss I & IIis a 40 acre placer mining claim in Sierra County, California, located next to the imposing Sierra Butte Mountains on theSalmon Creek! This gold-bearing river is a stones throw from both Gold and Salmon Lakes, great spots for fishing and camping and enjoying the beauty of the High Sierras Buttes while gold mining. Surrounded by gold-rich mountains, this section of the Salmon Creek is fed by several different tributaries on both sides of the valley, creating a gold funnel right here on the High Moss claims!Start mining gold now with this recreational mining claim.
Here are some key features of the High Moss I & II:
Plenty of sands and gravels already present on the claim, but these materials constantly refresh with the passing of the seasons. Black sands and the presence of surface quartz indicates glacial ices have broken down igneous intrusions on either side of the valley and deposited them into the Salmon Creek, among other places in the valley.
But this area of the Salmon Creek is special, finding itself in a natural funnel that slowly tightens down the mountain South toward Sierra City. Everything farther North of it has culminated here on the High Moss, and to make matters better, the river bends on this claim. As the river bends and slows down, it has a higher likelihood to drop the heavier materials it carries, like gold, onto the bank.
